Introducing Marc and Aimee

marcaimeebrewroom

Just after getting hitched, Marc and Aimee hit the brew room at The Upland Brewing Co. in Bloomington, Indiana.

A few weeks ago, two good friends of yours-truly posted a husband and wife beer review to The Forum. Marc and Aimée had a blast and it shows in their writing, so I invited them to contribute more.

You’ll find their beer and brewery reviews in a special section of BeerADay.net. Just click on “He Said, She Said” from one of the menus at the top of the page.

Their credentials — they love beer, and they specialize in an endearing banter that I believe you will enjoy as much as I do.

A brief example of their enthusiasm for good beer is portrayed in attached photo. Moments after their marriage, on the way to the reception, I drove them both to The Upland in Bloomington, IN where we took over our usual seats, played darts, and drank beer. At some point we were reminded several hundred guests were waiting on us, and if Marc and Aimée hadn’t been serving a couple of kegs of Upland Beer at the reception who knows if we would have ever left.

At least, that’s how I remember it.

Comment of the Week

Posted by: Andy Murphy | Comments (0)

Many of you may have noticed a block on the left side of the main page called “Comment of the Week”.

Each weekend — or as occasion merits — I intend to highlight some thoughtful commentary from the blog or the forum.

By the way, you don’t have to register to make a comment. But registration (via the “Participate” section on the left navigation panel) allows you to post a photo, makes it easier to reply, and automatically allows you to participate in the forum.

Dogfish Head Week

Posted by: Andy Murphy | Comments (3)

Let’s start February on a strong note. All week long, I’m going to feature a beer from Dogfish Head.

It will be a week of off-centered beer for an off-centered beer blog.

So here’s an assignment for all of you — go grab a beer from Dogfish Head and join the discussion this week. If you want to “play along at home,” I’ll be featuring the DFH bottles listed in my fridge.

Down Mexico Way

Posted by: Andy Murphy | Comments (0)

As I announced earlier today on Twitter, we’re about to embark on a BeerADay adventure, trekking to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the next few days.

The plan is to post daily updates featuring Mexican beer. But I’m hoping to sneak in a bonus post about premium tequilas on Saturday or Sunday.

I usually get my post completed between 10pm and midnight, but I ask for your patience — technically, this is a vacation for me, so I may finish a post a bit late or perhaps early in the morning. Hopefully, you’ll be hearing from me at poolside. :-)

On my watchlist — I’m searching for Grupo Modelo beers such as Victoria, Estrella, León, and Montejo. If you find me reviewing Tecate, Sol, or — please, don’t let it happen — Corona, you’ll know I got myself into a bind.

Beer Discussion

Posted by: Andy Murphy | Comments (0)

Just some quick updates — first, I’m pleased to announce the BeerADay.net discussion forum. You’ll find the link in the header of the main page.

Anyone who has registered a BeerADay.net account is automatically allowed to post and reply to the forum. Your user pics are also automatically pulled through.

I’d like to encourage you to post some of your own beer reviews to the Forum — I’ll be looking there for ideas when I’m ready to restock my beer supply.
